Arsenal target Nicolas Tagliaifco will stay at Ajax for 1 more season
Ajax FC confirmed via their twitter account that left-back Nicolas Tagliafico will stay at Amsterdam for one more season. The 26 year old’s value has increased drastically after his impressive displays for the Dutch capital outfit following his move in 2018 for just £4 million.
Both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in the player and Ajax fans were concerned he will be part of the mass exodus with European giants in wealthy leagues targeting their stars.
Ajax FC’s players have received a lot of attraction following the club’s journey in the UEFA Champions League this season and have a foot in the final after beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 away. De Jong’s move to Barcelona has been confirmed and club captain De Ligt is widely expected to follow his team-mate and make a switch to the Catalan capital.
Ajax fans have a reason to be happy on the transfer front with Nicolas Tagliafico leaving them a video message to confirm his stay for another season.
“I want to tell you that I will stay for one more season. Hopefully it will be a great year like it is this year.”
Tagliafico said in the video message posted on Ajax’s official Twitter account.
Tagliafico is contracted to Ajax FC until 2022 and the Argentine International has scored six goals and bagged eight assists for Ajax FC this season. Now, the Dutch club will try to convince David Neres to stay at Amsterdam for one more season.
Ajax FC have the chance to end this season with the Eredivisie and the UEFA Champions League titles. The Amsterdam club are currently at the top of Eredivisie ahead of PSV Eindhoven on goal difference.
