Alexis Sanchez offered to AS Roma by Manchester United
Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to revamp the club’s wage structure that has been rattled by the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. The Chilean winger who costs Man United £505,000-a-week has been offered to Italian giants AS Roma.
A source at Roma has reportedly told RomaPress that Manchester United have offered Alexis Sanchez to AS Roma but no deal is imminent as his wages remain a stumbling block for the Italian club.
The Giallorossi’s highest earner is Edin Dzeko, who earns €4.5 million per year without bonuses while Alexis Sanchez earns €20 million in net wages per season. However, AS Roma have expressed interest in taking the 30 year old only on loan for a season under one condition that Manchester United pay the majority of his wages.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to establish a structure on the wages at the club and the manager seems to think that the presence of Alexis Sanchez and his astronomical wages would disrupt it. According to reports from the Sun, the manager has threatened Sanchez to banish him to the club’s reserves unless he agrees to a move abroad.
Manchester United have time until the European transfer window closes on September 2 to ship Sanchez out.
