Jadon Sancho to return to Manchester City?
Manchester City have decided to rival Manchester United for the signature of their former youth academy player Jadon Sancho as per reports from Metro and the Express. Sancho left Man City in search of regular first team football and the Citizens sold him to Borussia Dortmund for a meagre £8 million in 2017.
His value has increased ten-folds after his brilliant performances for the German club where has has grabbed 13 assists and 10 goals so far this season. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to revamp his squad, Man United were ready to splash £100 million on the former Man City youngster who has established himself as a key-player at Borussia Dortmund and a starter at the English national team.
However, Man City have an edge if they decide to compete with United for Sancho’s signature. With a 15 percent sell-on clause inserted in the deal that saw Sancho leave from Man City to Dortmund, Sancho’s former club can sign the English winger for a fee lower than what their cross-city rivals must offer. Sancho has confirmed there is no bad blood between him and his former club which lets the door open for a return. The 19 year old also enjoys a fantastic relationship with Man City’s Raheem Sterling.
To make space for Sancho, Pep Guardiola must offload one of his wingers. Man City are already stacked up in that department. With Sterling and Bernardo Silva in top form, Leroy Sane with incredible potential, it seems like it will be City’s most expensive signing Riyad Mahrez who will leave the club and make way for Sancho if City sign their youngster back from Dortmund.
