Man City are not interested in Bruno Fernandes
For the past one week, there was widespread speculation in the media on Manchester City’s interest in Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes but the club apparently are not interested in signing the midfielder as per reports from the Manchester Evening News.
The media’s postulation of City’s interest in Bruno Fernandes started only after Bernardo Silva praised a few Sporting players, including Bruno Fernandes.
“Bruno is a great player. He has made a fantastic season with many goals, many assists that are not normal for a player of his position, he has the leading numbers and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season.
He is a player who can play in other championships.”
Bernardo Silva told O’Jogo when questioned about the Sporting midfielder
Bernardo’s statement of praise for the player had nothing to do with the club’s transfer plans, LosMejor understands. According to Manchester Evening News, sources within the club have confirmed Manchester City are not interested in signing Bruno Fernandes.
This news shouldn’t come as a surprise to Man City fans after Pep Guardiola started Phil Foden in a crucial Premier League fixture against Leicester City. The manager is prepared to place his trust on the 18 year old and give him more opportunities in the upcoming season.
