Juventus FC are Serie A Champions for the 8th consecutive time
Juventus have won the Serie A title in dominant fashion with 5 games to go after their victory against Fiorentina on Sunday. Napoli who are in second spot trail the Old Lady by 20 points. Alex Sandro’s first half goal and German Pezzella’s own goal in the 53rd minute were enough to seal a 2-1 win for Juventus after Nikola Milenkovic had given Fiorentina an early lead in the sixth minute.
This is the eighth consecutive season where Juventus have won the Serie A. At the start of the season, the Italian club signed one of the World’s best players – Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo will pick his third different top European league medal in Italy after he has already won the Premier League and La Liga with Manchester United and Real Madrid respectively.
After Juventus were knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax, manager Massimiliano Allegri’s future in charge of the Bianconeri was questioned but this season’s league title is his fifth straight after being appointed by Juventus in 2014 following the resignation of Antonio Conte. Allegri has also lead Juventus to two Champions league finals that ended in defeat for the Bianconeri .
Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed he will be back at Juventus next season ‘one thousand per cent’ after reports emerged that he was unhappy and considering his future.
The eight consecutive Serie A titles from 2012 to 2019 takes the Old Lady’s national league tally to 35 with no other Italian club in touching distance.
