Injury Update: Ronaldo’s return date
Cristiano Ronaldo picked up a leg injury on international duty for Portugal against Serbia. He was forced to come off in the 30th minute. Upon further examination in Portugal, the injury has been classified as minor.
The attacker confirmed that he expects to be back in one or two weeks. He told the press on Monday “It happens, it’s football. Who’s out there risks it. I’m calm, because I know I’m going to be back well in one or two weeks with no problem”. If his assessment is right, he will be ready to be in contention to be in the starting XI for the Old Lady’s clash against Dutch side Ajax at Amsterdam.
Juventus released a statement that read “During the match between Portugal and Serbia, the attacker reported an apparent minor injury to the right thigh flexors.”
“After being forced to go out at the 30th minute of the first half of the match between Portugal and Serbia, valid for the Euro 2020 qualifications, Cristiano Ronaldo was subjected in Portugal to investigations that showed an apparent minor injury to the right thigh flexors.”
“His conditions will be monitored and will be subjected to new tests to define the resumption of competitive activity.”
