UEFA charge Sergio Ramos for getting booked on purpose against Ajax
UEFA open disciplinary proceedings against Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos for deliberately getting a yellow card in their round of 16 first leg match against Ajax.
UEFA suspect Ramos intentionally earned a yellow card to bring forward the one match ban instead of risking the chance of earning a yellow in the next game. A yellow card in one of the next two games would result in Ramos missing one of the two legs of the Quarter final, if Real progress.
Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jesus Corona were recently awarded a two match suspension after being found guilty of deliberately earning yellow cards. The final decision on the matter will be made by UEFA before Thursday 28 February. Real Madrid will have the option of filing an appeal if UEFA punish Ramos.
