Chelsea want Edison Cavani but the Uruguayan is interested in joining Atletico Madrid
PSG’s want-away striker Edison Cavani wants a move to the Spanish capital according to his mother. The 32 year old Uruguan striker’s mother went on to accuse the French club of “not behaving well” in the transfer saga.
Edison Cavani is PSG’s all time leading goal scorer. The striker’s contract expires in the summer but PSG are looking to offload him and held talks with Chelsea a few days back.
As per various reports, Frank Lampard wants to secure Edinson Cavani on loan after injury to Tammy Abraham. The Chelsea hierarchy are ready to pay a £5m loan fee plus covering the Uruguayan’s £330,000-a-week PSG wages.
Despite Chelsea flexing their financial muscle for the Uruguan striker, his mother told the AS her son is waiting for both PSG and Atletico Madrid to reach an agreement.
“There is an open negotiation. PSG have rejected three proposals from Atletico but my son has asked to leave and we are waiting for an agreement to be reached by both clubs.
It’s complicated but he wants to play at Atletico, if not now, then in the summer. We have been wishing it for years but it does not now depend on my son but on PSG and Atletico. They are not behaving well with him, [especially] with everything he has given to PSG in the near seven years he has been there.”

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed the PSG striker is in his plans for the rest of the season but indicated Cavani will most likely play as a substitute unless some one is injured.
With time running out in the transfer window, PSG may lost the striker for free in the summer if they refuse to let him go to either Atletico Madrid or Chelsea.
