De Gea & Paul Pogba demanding wage parity with Sanchez amidst Real Madrid Interest
Just when Alexis Sanchez was tipped to move to Manchester City, Manchester United lured him to Old Trafford by offering him sky-high wages of £505K per week. Now, they are left to rue that move after Sanchez has failed to live up to the billing of a “World class attacker” and has flopped big-time under both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Paul Pogba’s form has drastically improved after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer toom over from Mourinho and David De Gea has been United’s best performer for the past few seasons. Both players are demanding parity with Sanchez when it comes to wage. Manchester United have to break their current wage structure and offer both superstars huge wages of £500,000+ per week to convince them to stay at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Paul Pogba and Zidane is a huge admirer of the French midfielder. Paul Pogba added more fire to the rumour linking him with Real Madrid by openly admitting that he is a fan of Zidane. He further went on to claim Real Madrid would be a dream for any player. While Manchester United can play the hard ball with Pogba who is contracted to them until 2021, they have to find another way to deal with De Gea.
Manchester United denied De Gea the opportunity to play for Real Madrid by sending his paper work one minute after the Spanish transfer window slammed shut. De Gea is already a victim of Man United denying him the opportunity to play for his dream club. The shot-stopper is in no hurry to renew his current deal despite being a popular player amidst the fans. His current contract expires in the summer of 2020.
One of the key conditions laid out by both players is the pay-parity with Sanchez which is making the contract renewal complex. Express reports that Pogba is ready to force through a move to Real Madrid despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanting to retain the midfielder. ESPN claims that sources close to De Gea have dropped hint that Man United don’t have the capacity to match the shot stopper’s demands. Real Madrid will be closely monitoring the situation of both players as Zidane looks to rebuild an aging squad.
