Pep Guardiola: Juventus links have no truth
All major news outlets republished a rumour reported by CalcioMercato, which claimed Pep Guardiola has verbally agreed to join Juventus in the summer. We called the possibility of Pep moving to Italy highly unlikely after analysing the situation.
Today, that assessment has been proved right with the Manager committing his immediate future to Manchester City and has clearly indicated he is going to see the reminder of his contract with the English champions and maybe stay even beyond 2021.
After Manchester City made light work of Watford at the Etihad with Raheem Sterling scoring a hattrick, Pep Guardiola appeared for the routine press-conference. When questioned about the Juventus rumours, the City boss was quick to quash all rumours. He said ” I have two more years here and I am going to move? Impossible. Except if they sack me and after I go home”.
He gave City fans more reasons to celebrate by claiming he is open to staying beyond his current contract. “If Manchester City want me, I will stay two more years by far – and hopefully another one. I am not going to Juventus in the next two seasons”. The highly successful Catalan Manager enjoys the full backing of the City board and is adored by the blue half of Manchester. They will love him more after this press conference.
