Real Madrid have signed Hazard but face stiff competition for Pogba
Eden Hazard was Real Madrid’s number one target in the summer and the Spanish club concluded the deal with Chelsea for the 28 year old winger two weeks back by splashing out €100 million. Real Madrid’s 4 months outlay crossed €300 million with the signing of Ferland Mendy last week.
Florentino Perez had already concluded deals for Luka Jovic, Eder Militao and Rodrygo in the last four months to help Zinedine Zidane’s side put on a credible title challenge next season after the Los Blancos ended their season trophyless.
Zinedine Zidane has supposedly told Perez he needs both Hazard and Pogba to compete with Barcelona. However, Juventus are also interested in the French midfielder who seems to have verbally informed Manchester United he prefers to leave. With the Italian Champions willing to bid as high as €145 million for the 26 year old, Real Madrid would have to engage in a transfer war with Juventus to seal the deal.
Juventus believe Maurizio Sarri can convince Paul Pogba to return to the Old Lady even though Pogba has his head turn by Real Madrid’s interest. Pogba is believed to be an admirer of French Legend Zinedine Zidane but Manchester United prefer to sell the midfielder to the highest bidder.
If Juventus outbid Real Madrid who have already broke the bank to bring five other players to the Santiago Bernabeu, Pogba supposedly wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Allianz Stadium where he could link up with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both Real Madrid and Juventus have Christian Eriksen as the fall-back option if they fail in their bids to sign Paul Pogba.
