Sergio Aguero set to return for UCL clash against Tottenham Hotspur
Sergio Aguero picked up a muscle problem in Man City’s 2-0 win against Fulham. The striker missed Man City’s fixtures against Cardiff City in the EPL and Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup semi-final. The Argentine star returned to training on Sunday as City prepare for their crucial Champions League quarter final clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
After the FA cup semi-final victory over Brighton, Man City have stayed in England and trained at Charlton Athelic’s home – the Valley stadium. Fabien Delph also returned to training but faces a race to be fit for City’s clash against Tottenham.
Zinchenko is set to miss City’s upcoming match against Spurs but Mendy who started the FA Cup semi-final is available for selection and is widely expected to start again for the Blues against the north London side after missing most parts of this season with an injury.
With crucial matches coming thick and fast, Guardiola will be careful not to rush Man City’s all time leading goal scorer back to action and could start Gabriel Jesus against Spurs after he scored the winner in City’s FA Cup win over Brighton. Aguero is still expected to come on as a substitute in the second half if City fail to break Spurs. Man City are still in contention to win the unprecedented quadruple and Aguero will be very important in their quest for glory.
