Real Madrid’s 4 months outlay has crossed €300m with the signing of Ferland Mendy
Real Madrid have completed the signing of left-back Ferland Mendy from French club Lyon for a fee believed to be in the region of £47m (€53m). Despite already having Marcelo in their ranks, Real Madrid have opted to spend big money on a new left-back with Zidane focusing on rebuilding an ageing squad after a disastrous campaign.
The 24 year old defender has signed a six year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu. The signing of Mendy takes the Spanish capital outfit’s spending in the last 6 months to an excess of €300m but the Spanish giants are not done yet. They are also linked with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen.
Florentino Perez has seen the arrival of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao and Rodrygo. La Liga president Javier Tebas had recently accused PSG and Man City of distorting the transfer market but Real Madrid’s outlay has made the claims of the Spanish Top Flight’s President look like a joke.
