Chelsea stay in the race for top 4 with a victory against 18th placed Cardiff City after coming back with two late goals to win 2-1 at the Cardiff City stadium. The bluebirds pressed high and unnerved Chelsea who dominated the possession stats with Sarriball.

In the 11th minute, Willian was sent through by Rudiger and the midfielder passed it to Pedro whose shot just flew over the crossbar. Two minutes later, Cardiff had the best chance of the half when Gunnarson’s long throw kickstarted their attack and Murphy was at the end of a move that saw him bend the ball towards the farpost, missing the target narrowly.

Willian played the corner short and got the ball back from Pedro before finding Alonso inside the box. The Spaniard’s tame shot missed the target. It was a game of few clear cut chances and the first half finished 0-0.

The bluebirds started the second half brightly. Cardiff scored two minutes into the second half with Camarasa’s volley beating Kepa to the top corner. Sarri responded by bringing in Hazard who was initially rested for this game and named only on the bench.

Willian came very close to scoring the equalizer for Chelsea but his left footed shot beat Etheridge and the post. In the 84th minute, Willian’s corner reached Alonso who turned it towards Azpilicueta with his head. The Chelsea captain who was atleast two yards offside equalized.

Chelsea’s comeback was complete when Azpilicueta’s cross reached Ruben Loftus-cheek who scored with a header beating Etheridge. Cardiff City are yet to win against a top six side in the Premier League this season.
