De Gea wants to stay at Man Utd for “many years”

Manchester United goal-keeper David De Gea has re-affirmed his commitment to the Red Devils by admitting he wants to be part of Man United for many more years to come. The Spanish shot-stopper joined Manchester United in June 2011 for £18.9 million – a British transfer record for a goal keeper at that time.

The Man Utd number one’s long term plans were thrown into doubt recently with the emergence of Utd’s young goal keeper Dean Henderson shining at Sheffield United on loan. Despite that, De Gea wants to stay at the club and keep his number one position as the goal-keeper of Man Utd.

I’m getting older. Just to be a part of this club is amazing. So imagine, 10 years, it’s like a dream. It’s great to play games with this club, so I hope I can be here more years, many years.
“We didn’t concede many goals and, of course, with Bruno he brings a lot of quality. He’s a clever player, a top midfielder.
“The team improved with him and it was a pity that everything stopped because we were in a good moment.
“But hopefully with some players that were injured will be fit when it all starts again, so it will be a good challenge for everyone.”

De Gea is contracted to Manchester United until 2013 on a £350k per week contract. Before the season was paused due to COVID 19, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were unbeaten since late January and picked 8 wins in 11 matches.
