Carlo Ancelotti has agreed to take over as the Everton boss after being sacked by Napoli last week. The Italian manager won the double with Chelsea in 2010 and has led Real Madrid and AC Milan to Champions League glory.

The disastrous start to the Premier League campaign led to the firing Marco Silva after Everton found themselves in the relegation race despite the quality of the squad. Duncan Ferguson was named as the interim caretaker and under the Everton legend, the club have beat Chelsea and drawn against Manchester United.

Duncan Ferguson ruled himself out of the long-term candidates list to replace Marco Silva and called for the club to bring one of the best managers of the world to Goodison Park.

Everton started negotiations with Carlo Ancelotti last week and a deal has now been reached between the club and the manager. The 60 year old will be paid a basic salary £11.5million per year, with a bonus of £2.5m if he keeps the club in the Premier League.

Ancelotti joining the Toffees is a big statement of intent and Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has reportedly promised the Italian manager with funds to bring new players to Goodison Park.
