Man United and Arsenal show interest in Inter’s Christian Eriksen
Inter are willing to sell Christian Eriksen in January as per multiple reports. The potential destination for the Danish midfielder are Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium. After Jose Mourinho refused to resign the former Spurs playmaker, Man Utd are now the favourites to sign the midfielder if he leaves San Siro in January.
The Denmark International has struggled to adapt to life in Italy and Inter want to reduce their wage bill. Antonio Conte’s side want to offload the Dane who is on £200,000-a-week contract.
Inter Milan’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta told Sky Italia “If by January Eriksen has played little, he will himself ask to leave. We have to do it without any controversy from one side or the other, simply by considering it as a positive transfer move that has not been functioning for our technical-tactical needs.”
In nine matches, Eriksen has failed to register a goal or an assist for Inter. Man Utd view Eriksen’s Premier League pedigree as a valuable asset in their pursuit of reinforcing their midfield in a cut-price deal.
Arsenal are the other club linked with Eriksen but the player’s past affiliation with Spurs may make the deal complicated unless the Dane doesn’t receive an offer from another big club.
