Zinchenko’s injury is not serious, confirms defender
Man City defender Oleks Zinchenko had to be replaced early in the first half of Manchester City’s home victory against Cardiff City. The Ukrainian has impressed as stand-in left back for Man City this season and with the Citizens alive in all competitions at this stage of the season, most fans were concerned about Zinchenko’s injury despite Mendy returning to training recently.
Zinchenko eased the fears of the Man City faithful by confirming on Instagram that the injury is not as serious as it was feared earlier.
“Good team performance [against Cardiff] and we have six more finals in [the] Premier League! Thanks for your support and messages – the injury is not so serious. Will come back stronger.”

Pep Guardiola is expected to provide update on Zinchecko’s return date before their FA cup semi-final match against Brighton at Wembley. However, the 22 year old is most likely to miss City’s next match in the FA Cup against Brighton.
