Leicester appoint Brendan Rodgers as Manager
Former Swansea City and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers returns to English football as Leicester Manager after the club sacked Claude Puel. Rodgers traveled to Leicester after the Scottish champions Celtic “reluctantly” gave him permission to negotiate with the Foxes.
The Foxes have tied Brendan until June 2022 to rebuild the club. The 46 year old said “I’m very privileged and honoured to be here as Leicester City manager and I’ll give my life to make the supporters proud of their club. Together, we’ll be stronger and I’m looking forward to working with the players, staff and supporters to make the right steps forward”.
Rodgers was in-charge of the Welsh club Swansea that got promoted to the Premier League. He came close to winning the title with Liverpool in 2013-14 where Man City pipped them to the title.
Brendan leaves Celtic in a strong position after winning 7 titles in Scotland. Leicester City Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha exclaimed “I’m absolutely delighted to bring a manager of Brendan’s calibre to Leicester City and I look forward to seeing what he, our talented, young squad and our dedicated, skilled team of staff can achieve together”.

Brendan watched his new recruits win 2-1 against Brighton. The Foxes travel to Watford next where is expected to make his Managerial debut for Leicester.
