Real Madrid agree Luka Jovic transfer for £51 million
Luka Jovic has been Europe’s most wanted striker and has attracted interest from elite clubs across Europe following his impressive displays for Eintracht Frankfurt. We reported a few days back that Real Madrid were inching closer towards a deal for the 21 year old striker and now, Real Madrid have secured the signing of the Serbian striker from Eintracht Frankfurt for €60 (£51) million as per reports from Spanish daily Diario AS.
Jovic has scored 26 goals and bagged 5 assists for Adi Hütter’s side this season and in the last couple of weeks, both PSG and Real Madrid were trying to secure a deal for the youngster. With Real Madrid now having secured the deal for Jovic, the French giants have turned their attention to Ajax FC’s midfielder Van de Beek.
Out of the €60 million Real Madrid pay to Eintracht Frankfurt, €12m will go to the Portuguese club Benfica who loaned the player to the German side before they triggered a clause in the loan deal to make the switch permanent.
The striker is expected join the Spanish capital outfit in the summer on a six year deal. Zinedine Zidane is reportedly planning to use the player alongside in-form striker Karim Benzema during pre-season but would rotate them if his new formation doesn’t work out.
In a separate deal, Mariano Diaz who has failed to break into the Real Madrid starting XI will move to Eintracht Frankfurt and fill the void left by Luka Jovic.
