Andrea Pirlo eyes Isco as his first signing for Juventus with the Spanish Champions weighing up a swap deal
The new manager of Juventus has made Real Madrid’s Isco a key target for Juventus as he aims to shake up the Old Lady’s midfield.
Andrea Pirlo’s first signing would most likely be Isco Alarcon – the Real Madrid midfielder who expressed his admiration for Juventus a while back.
Juventus aim to lift the Serie A title for the tenth successive time next season. With Pjanic leaving Juventus for Barcelona, Pirlo’s priority is to shake up the Juventus midfield and add exciting attacking midfielders such as Isco to aid the star studded attack of the Serie A Champions.
The Juventus manager said “The midfield needs to be improved and after Ronaldo was signed, it was a good feeling. But there was no real plan on how to get the ball, outstanding midfielders are needed to win the Champions League.”
Isco Alarcón could become one of the unexpected protagonists of the Real Madrid transfer plan in the post-COVID market. The former Malaga player had yet another bizarre season of ups and downs and he is not viewed by Zinedine Zidane as irreplaceable.
A few years back, Isco was on the Juventus transfer radar but the Turin-based side never followed through with a formal offer. The Old Lady’s new manager Andrea Pirlo is reportedly a fan of Isco and wants him at Turin next season.
Andrea Pirlo, in an interview on Sky Sports in 2019, spoke very highly of Isco Alarcón and said Juventus should view Isco as a necessary signing. ” In my opinion, it is necessary to sign Isco. We are at a different level in Italy, but we have to win the Champions League“, he explained in that interview.
Real Madrid are reportedly interested in swapping Isco for Dybala in a player plus cash deal. Paulo Dybala is valued by Juventus at €100 million (£90 million) and the Spanish Champions are hoping to sweeten the deal by adding Isco or Kroos into their offer for Dybala.
Dybala helped Juventus retain the Serie A title and reach the final of the Coppa Italia by chipping in with 17 goals in all competitions.
